Trent Larrabee
"If I am the songs I sing
can I survive infinity?"
About Trent Larrabee
Orbiting around folk rock and indie rock lies the music of Trent Larrabee. His self-produced 2021 album Billions of Musics captures an array of his songwriting styles, featuring folk rock ballads, indie rock bangers, and textured instrumental explorations. Combining an intricate and nuanced guitar style with compelling and contemplative lyrics, Trent’s music is sure to reward an attentive listener.
Trent draws lyrical and musical inspiration from a spiritual consciousness and a metaphysical perspective. His songs are familiar, but fresh, and wrapped in a philosophical and emotional depth that stirs the subconscious.
Moving away from his hometown at sixteen, Trent's desire to express through music became home.
Co-founding, fronting, and contributing to several New Hampshire based musical projects in the last decade, Trent has proven his songwriting to be versatile and accomplished. Never writing the same song twice, yet keeping a tangible consistency throughout multiple genres and styles (indie/folk/emo/punk/atmospheric), listeners have come to recognize his "sound" as truly unique.
"I can't think of anyone in the area that quite sounds like you guys," says Matt Connarton about Trent's newest project, Slim Volume, on his radio show Matt Connarton Unleashed (93.5 WMNH). "There's a cohesion. The songs sound like the same band, but you can tell there's a mix of influences."
Having written and released over 100 songs in various musical outfits, Trent's music has served many purposes: One of his songs was used as the first dance at a couple's wedding - and another was selected for a walk down the aisle. (His wedding performances now totals 7). His songs have been played on local radio stations around New England. He's even lended his guitar work as a session player. And as an honorable mention, some of his fingerstyle guitar arrangements have garnered critical acclaim from the most niche of pockets on YouTube - no small feat!
In a live setting, Trent delivers a standout performance. With a pensive countenance and a purposeful presence, it is clear his playing is from the soul, for the soul. He has shared a stage with Kevin Devine and Peaer - showing that he can accompany a variety of musical bills.
Currently he plays with Slim Volume out of Manchester, NH.
